Fixated and Modified Moving blankets.
These moving blankets, which I treated in different ways, likewise find their place in my environment. Moving blankets refer to the storage of objects — this emphasizes the idea of a theatre storage. The piece is a hit thrown at the bastard child of sculptural adultery with painting. It is neither sculpture nor painting. Similar to other works, it carries a strange aura, like reptile skin found in an attic.
Moving is accompanied by growth. This leads to a more autobiographical dimension in the work: the notion of the wanderer and moving blankets are completely woven into my Existenz. I envy nomadism and find it difficult to commit to one place. The objects reveal my affection towards Goldmund, the vagabond, Geuzen (beggars), and the jester.
Furthermore, I play with the paradoxical fact of making textiles into something rigid, into a sculpture. There is an awareness of the necessary duality between rest/anchoring, and dynamics/evolution. The moving blankets are integrated into my installations to indicate that everything is still developing. Additionally, I install them as a plinth for other works. Those who strike against it make the whole fall. As a result, a new constellation is created. "Un coup de dés jamais n'abolira le hasard."
